Paying it forward, the old fashioned way.

I remember being a Freshman in college, far from home and all things familiar. I would often go to my mailbox, hoping desperately for some indication that someone was thinking of me. Of course, most of the time, I left with bills and junk mail, but on those occasions when I pulled out a card, it was like I had found a treasure! And my heart practically glowed for the rest of the day. I loved the envelope and the card of course, but nothing matched what was inside-- and it wasn't money! The words penned in familiar handwriting brought home to me. Have you ever felt that way? Like someone just reached out and touched your heart. I don't know exactly why, but a card seems so much more personal than an email. And in my opinion, e-cards are just tacky! I love to write a note in a card and send it off, knowing that I just made that someone's day! Especially when they don't expect it! Just an out of the blue thinking of you. I would like to challenge you, dear reader. Find a card (you're at the right place) that you would like to send. It's an old fashioned pay it forward!

Why Creative Moments?

As the idea of selling cards initially formed in my mind, I kept asking myself why someone would order my cards when they could go across the street and buy a card on demand at the local drug store. Mine do have the home-made advantage, but is that really enough? I determined to add an incentive to buy my cards. I offer something that the store across the street simply cannot offer. You can personalize the cards you buy! If your boy is graduating, and you think my dreamy birthday card would work, if only it were blue instead of purple, just let me know, and it's done! I can even change the wording! You can tweak my cards however you would like at no extra cost! My only request is an extra week. I may need to brainstorm or buy more supplies for your card. The wonderful season of Autumn!

Hello all! I sincerely hope you are in a place where you can watch the leaves change, feel the crisp fall breeze, and the chill in the air. Unfortunately, I don't, so I have taken to making my home the essence of fall! I have pumpkin spice candles lit often, and a red/orange theme in my kitchen. With my next check, I plan to invest in some fall decorations to invite the essence of fall into my humble abode. I dream of autumn colored garlands gracing the tops of the walls, pumpkins set in corners or as centerpieces, and a few carefully selected decorations to keep watch on the windowsill. I think I am falling in love with Fall! As I walked through the craft stores, some decorative little items jumped out of me, and soon several little cards arranged themselves in my mind. You can find them in the "monthly" section. And then let's all bask in the essence of Autumn!

Baby Steps

Creative Moments is the birth of a dream I conceived years ago. Now, my dream is coming true! ... slowly. This, as with any birth, is the result of a painful journey. A chronic illness has stripped me of my ability to work. But, it has not stripped me of my ability to live! In fact, were it not for my chronic illness, I would not have the time to commit to such a venture. However, because of my chronic illness, Creative Moments is stepping forward with little, tiny baby steps. Such a slow progression may seem like a disappointment to you. But you can use it to your advantage, and I'll tell you how. Right now, I am very slowly getting the "next" card prepared. Are you looking for a card that's not there? Tell me! Yours can be the next card! You can even personalize it! If your little sister's favorite colors are pink and purple, and she really likes fairy tales, I can make a pink and purple fairy tale card just for her! This is not a "One card fits all" business!
